Directors:
Mick Green MA, BSc, MIEEM
Mick has over 20 years experience in ecology, involving a wide variety of ecological research and survey. Author of numerous reports, papers and articles he has special expertise in uplands and waders, along with the process of EIA. Work has included individual species studies, upland bird surveys and extensive wader research in many areas. He has worked widely across the UK as well as in The Middle East and Africa. Mick has also worked on policy development and research for several national NGOs and has sat on various national committees.
Dr Sarah Cartmel
Sarah gained her doctorate on research into habitat requirements of red squirrels, and has authored several papers on the subject. A licensed bat worker, Sarah has extensive experience in bat survey work in a range of situations. Previous experience includes bird surveys in a variety of situations in the UK and Ireland and work has included research on dippers and red kite. Sarah is also our GIS expert and is developing our data analysis capabilities.
Tony Cross BSc
Tony is a professional ornithologist with over 20 years experience as a fieldworker and researcher, his own interests include studying breeding success, distribution and dispersion of birds. His study species include raven and chough, barn owl and nightjar. Tony is a licensed bird ringer and has expertise in colour marking techniques and radio tracking. He is ornitholological consultant for the Welsh Kite Trust where he organises research and surveys. Tony has worked extensively in Wales and across the UK as well as a brief spell in Kuwait following the first Gulf War
In addition ecologymatters have a wide range of specialist Associates who regularly work with us on anything from plants to newts and dolphins to dormice, including licence holders for protected species, habitat assessment, GIS and remote sensing, site management and countryside interpretation. Wherever possible we work with Associates who are not only experts in their field but also have detailed knowledge of the geographical area where work is required. We value local knowledge and know how, and also work to keep mileage and associated carbon emissions to a minimum.
