BREEAM Code for sustainable Homes
BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. ecologymatters can provide the Ecological Assessment section of this method.
The Code for Sustainable Homes became operational in England in April 2007 and a Code rating for new build homes became mandatory from 1st May 2008. Also from the 1st of May 2008, a minimum of Code Level 3 is required for all new housing promoted or supported by the Welsh Assembly Government or their sponsored bodies.
From ecological surveys of a proposed building site or an existing building ecologymatters produces a report detailing existing ecological interest, suggestions as to how to retain the maximum ecological interest and management plans to increase biodiversity on a site.
Reports can be produced in standard BREEAM or Code for Sustainable Homes templates to allow developers to obtain the maximum scores under the schemes and help develop sustainable buildings and grounds.
